Farmacy, Westbourne Grove, London
On 28th July 2018 by HelenA couple of weeks ago, after visiting The Allergy and Free From Show at London Olympia, I took mum for dinner at a place I’ve always wanted to visit, Farmacy, in Westbourne Grove.
I’ve heard about this place from so many bloggers/vloggers and thought it would be a great place to try for dinner.
As soon as we arrived we were very impressed. We walked through the door and were immediately greeted by two of the friendliest front of house staff. After initially telling them how hot we were after a crazy tube journey on one of the hottest days of the year, they responded by telling us they knew the perfect place for us to sit. They showed us to a table for two by the air conditioning at the back of the restaurant. It certainly was the perfect table, nice and cool.
Initially I was slightly worried that this place might be a tiny bit pretentious and ‘stuck up’ because of the hype around it and its location, but that couldn’t have been further from the truth. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The ambiance was pleasant, the tables were tightly packed but you couldn’t hear neighbouring tables’ conversations, and the music was at the right volume that you weren’t shouting at each other either.
The menu has a vast choice from vegan to gluten free. The waiter was able to be very clear on all allergens, informing me the kitchen wasn’t separated so there was a chance of cross contamination which I accepted at my own risk (I was 100% fine).
We started with a glass of sparkling rosé and I ordered a Thai green curry and mum had the quesadilla. To finish I had raw coconut and lime cheese cake and mum had raw chocolate ice cream. The curry was amazing, not too spicy, and the cheese cake reminded me of a coconut slice but was very rich and heavy. To finish I had fresh mint and verbena tea and mum had rose tea.
The price of the meal was fair for London and I would certainly eat there again. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for the friendliness of its staff, wide variety of menu choices and warm ambiance.
