Blogweekendmas 9th & 10th December – UK Snow
On 12th December 2017 by HelenOk, so this Blogweekendmas didn’t quite go as planned! Originally Saturday was meant to be spent at a spa with one of my besties, but sadly her son got a sickness bug so we had to cancel, and then on Sunday I was meant to be going up to Stratford Upon Avon to see my uni friends, attend afternoon tea and then the Victorian Christmas market, but the snow meant the market was cancelled and my friends told me the snow was too bad in the Midlands to risk the three-hour drive.
However, not to be too down about things, it was snowing where I live and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better early birthday and Christmas present! Considering that last year, whilst I was in Coogee and it was 40 degrees, felt nothing like Christmas, this year it feels perfect.
After letting my internal five year old out for about ten minutes, which consisted of squealing around the house and then just staring, mesmerised, out of the window, I decided the sooner I got dressed the sooner I could go out in it.
I took an afternoon walk into town and tried to capture some of the magic the snow brought, even if it was starting to get a bit slushy at that point (sadly it never stays for long). It hasn’t snowed properly here for about five years, so it was so lovely hearing it crunch under your feet as you walked. I’m definitely a winter person through and through; even though I’m not such a fan of dark mornings and evenings, I love nothing more than the snow, warm jumpers and being all cosy.
Hope you like the pictures:
