Blogweekendmas 16th & 17th December – Christmas at Kew Gardens
On 23rd December 2017 by HelenSo I’m a little behind this week with ‘ye olde’ Blogweekendmas. Honestly I don’t know about you but this last week at work has been crazy busy trying to get everything sorted before Christmas Day. Thankfully I’m lucky and get the whole week off so I can have a lovely rest now.
(This is a mammoth post with a lot of photos…enjoy)
Last weekend Mum took me to London for my birthday present. We started the day off having a lovely walk around Liberty, Carnaby Street, Oxford Street and New Bond Street looking at all the Christmas lights. I can’t lie it was absolute chaos and a tiny bit claustrophobic with the sheer volume of people but the lights were beautiful. The only place I was disappointed in was Selfridges as I’ve seen better displays from them in previous years. However once in Selfridges we tried to escape it all by going to the third floor where all the summer stock is and stumbled across the Hemsley and Hemsley cafe. Unbeknown to me it is completely gluten free and I had the nicest quinoa salad and beetroot juice. Mum had the same juice and a lentil salad. A perfect refuel before the next part of the day and my actual present: Christmas at Kew Gardens.
We came here a couple of years ago for this event and it is simply magical. The whole gardens are lit up with light shows themed to Christmas music. There’s also champagne, mulled wine, mulled cider and the best marshmallows ever to pick up if you fancy on the way around. It’s a place where adults are just as excited and mesmerized as the children. It takes about 2.5 hours to walk around but it feels like it’s over so quickly. If you’re a Christmas nutter like me then I’d 100% recommend you get here one year. Also for a London event it’s very reasonably priced at £16 per person. I’ve inserted all the pictures below, I hope you enjoy looking at them.
Also just before you take a look thank you so much for reading this blog this year, it means the world to me that people take the time to cast their eye over it. I hope you have a fantastic Christmas xx
