A Pretty Awful Week Followed by a Great Weekend
On 18th October 2016 by HelenAfter what can only be described as an awful few days last week the weekend was really good!
The hostel I am in although very clean has certainly been an experience so far I haven’t got past 4hours sleep a night since I landed because I’ve had to put up with people snoring, people coming home at 3am and people having sex in the dorm (because apparently they are exhibitionists). I have to say by the time Saturday morning came I was so happy to not be staying there for one night.
Saturday was a really good day. I went to the Botanic Gardens (where there was a wedding so naturally like half the tourists I made myself and honorary guest at a safe distance), circular quay and had drinks at the Opera Bar and went to a street festival in Paddington. I went with some people I have met from another hostel and my friend Emily. The weather was amazing, 26 degrees – I burnt even though I put sunscreen on. In the evening I stayed with my friend Emily at her house in Mosman. It has the most stunning views of the water.
Sunday was really hot (29 degrees) and after a long lie in which was much needed I got up had breakfast and then sat by the pool before going to Manly with Em. We got to Manly after 1pm and had a lunch on Manly high street and then we went to the beach. It was so windy so we walked round the coast to Shelly beach which was much more sheltered and warm. We spent a few hours here before I headed back to the city and the dreaded hostel.
This next week will 100% be focused on getting a job so I can afford a flat share!!
